Poetry Competition - ‘Through their eyes’
The English departments have recently given students the opportunity to take part in a poetry competition called ‘Through their eyes’ where they are encouraged to write a poem from the point of view of another person or animal.
They could be anyone they like and can make really powerful statements – writing as someone: in prison, facing discrimination, fighting for their country or living in extreme poverty.
We have received some lovely responses so far from students showing curiosity, open-mindedness and compassion – the final deadline is Friday 11th October so these need to be with their English teachers as soon as possible.
I wish students all the best in this competition,
Aylesford School English Department
