Black History Month
Black History month has been celebrated for the last 30 in the UK. This week at Aylesford we have been proud to recognise this and learn more about Black History month in assemblies and mentor time.
Open Mindedness is a key character strength at Aylesford and it has been great to explore and find out more about this.
Mr Mushekwa and Mrs Emeribe were proud to deliver an assembly and share their own experiences and knowledge of Black History with Year 7 ,8 and 9. They joined in the celebration with an assembly which reinforced the richness of the diverse culture that we have in the UK
Students also spent time looking at this in mentor time by studying the impact of the Black Power Salute, at the 1968 Mexico Olympic Games
