Code of Conduct for Examinations

Please read this information and refer to it when needed.

School Exam Rules

  • Arrive at least 30 minutes before the published start time of the exam to be sat.
  • On entering the room, you are immediately under strict examining body rules and regulations, these are:
    • NO communication with any other candidate or turning around
    • NO eating (water is allowed in a clear bottle with no label)
    • NO unauthorised material (papers, books, smart watches, mobile phones)
    • Not to become involved in any dishonest or unfair practice
    • Any candidate found breaking these rules will be reported to the examining body and face possible disqualification with the inevitable long-term consequences of not having subject results.


  • Mobile phones and watches should not be brought into the exam room. If you have nowhere secure to store your phone, you MUST switch it off and give it to an invigilator before entering the exam room.
  • Candidates WILL NOT be permitted to leave the exam room to use the toilet (unless previously arranged with Mrs Prescott). Use the facilities BEFORE you enter the exam room.
  • Candidates MUST NOT deface any exam equipment, including desks. Anyone caught vandalising equipment will be punished and made to pay for repairs.
  • If you finish your exam early, you WILL NOT be permitted to leave the exam room until the end of the exam.
