Miss G. Young
Head of Creative Arts
We have a number of opportunities for students to develop their curiosity and interests in Art & Design through various forms of enrichment. We have specific Art clubs to support exam students with 1-2-1 assistance in specific areas. The Art Ambassadors group meet every Wednesday with the aim to develop cross-curricular and community links, working on various Art projects such as competitions, murals and working with local Primary schools. Key Stage 3 students are also able to attend during lunchtimes for specific support or to develop their Art skills further. Our extra-curricular calendar is featured below with Art highlighted blue:
Look out for details of competitions on both our Instagram page (Aylesfordartdepartment) and on the Creative Arts noticeboard in the entrance to Wimbledon Block.
We also run specific trips/ visits for our Art and Photography students to the following locations:
Year 7 – The National Gallery & National Portrait Gallery
Year 10-13 – GCSE & A-Level Art trip to the Tate Britain
Year 10-12 – GCSE & A-Level Photography to the Tate Modern with London photo walk
